Quotes always improving- Why being your best matters

hard hard, under construction

I dug up a couple quotes on always improving. Each one highlights why being your best matters.

“If one does not constantly improve, one stays behind. People must always stay on top of their game, whether through forward thinking or innovative actions. We live in a remarkable age in which technology is evolving rapidly and assisting us in continually improving ourselves and our work methods. Immerse yourself in change. Don’t be afraid of it. Carpe diem.”  —Ayelet Noff, founder of Blonde 2.0

Ayelet stresses that if you are not getting better then you are being left behind in a world that is constantly changing. Being resistant to change will make you sort of a dinosaur and we know what happened to them! Just think about a grandma that may not know how to use Facetime, Facebook, or even the cellphone for that matter. My point is resisting the inevitable (life changes, changes of circumstance) could leave you bitter, behind, and out of touch.

Be willing to fall in love with the process.

Okay next quote…

“I have a great respect for incremental improvement, and I’ve done that sort of thing in my life, but I’ve always been attracted to the more revolutionary changes. I don’t know why. Because they’re harder. They’re much more stressful emotionally. And you usually go through a period where everybody tells you that you’ve completely failed.” —Steve Jobs, founder of Apple

Steve understood that everything can be improved in steps. Think about your 16 year old self compared to yourself now. Drastic difference huh? Each small improvement pushes you into your future self and we should strive for bigger goals over the long haul. Why? Because its the big goals that are revolutionary. It’s taking the job that will stretch you that will change you forever, it’s daring to follow your passion even when people around you think you’re nuts, it’s being uncompromising in achieving stability whether that be family, financial, or deeply personal.

At the same time you cannot become the best version of yourself without the challenges that accompany it.
