How to relax your mind at work

Every now and again I am trying to create New content or focus my attention on the daily task that make the most impact on my business and I hit a brick wall.

A barrier that completely shuts me down.

When this happens I am no good to anyone.

I need to get back to a place of excitement, energy and creativity———— aka RELAX.

An easy way to relax your mind is to do something completely the opposite of what you normally do.

This could be listening to music, playing instruments, drawing, coloring, or grabbing a basketball and shooting a couple of baskets.

This process is what Einstein called combinatory play.

Which is a process that opens up one mental pathway by using another.

Einstein used this technique by playing the violin to free his mind to solve math problems in new ways.

When I need to get unstuck I listen to soft jazz, draw, or even read something entertaining.

Oh and when I draw it sucks :-).But it is affective in releasing any tension or notion of perfectionism I may have.

This is how you trick your brain!

  1. I usually become lethargic and lack work ethic after lunch. I have found that after I have walked around the school and talked to a few people I can get back on track. I also have found that if I stop thinking about a problem and do other things, the answer to the problem sometimes pops up.

    1. Hi Mat,

It’s interesting how that works. You distract yourself and BOOM…Suddenly you are back on track or get the answer you need!

      Thank you for the comment.
